Making queries and distributions
In the following section, we will explain how to make useful queries,
distributions and word lists for translators.
Making queries
To make queries (ask the TACT for specific items) proceed as follows:
- Open the TACT programme.
- From the main menu, select UseBase.
- Write down the database name.
- Go to Display menu and select one of the display
options.
- Go to Select menu and select "Query".
- A black screen with an empty chart will be displayed.
- Write down what you wish to look for.
- To save the results, go to File menu and select
Disk option.
- The search will be saved in a file with .lst extension.

Making distributions
To make distributions proceed as follows:
- Open the TACT programme.
- From the main menu, select UseBase.
- Write down the database name.
- Go to Display menu and select the Distribution option.
- Go to "Query" (see the above section) and ask
for the word you wish to look for.
- A distribution of the chosen word will be displayed.
- To save the results, go to File menu and select Disk
option.
- The search will be saved as a file with .lst extension.
