Demo of the LIC package

The LIC package has the following components (among others not available):

Palic: Spanish morphological analyzer
Ambilic: Linguistic-based Spanish disambiguator
Make_pos: output module

To try this demo package it is necessary to obtain some files and perform the following operations:

create some directories
download some files
uncompress the retrieved files

The following table shows the details:

Directory	Content	Procedure
C:\DFB_ES	The dictionaries*	Create this directory, then save in it and decompress the file DBF_ES.EXE
C:\DFB_ASC	Some auxiliary files (grammatical words, tagset ...) *	Create this directory, then save in it and decompress the file DBF_ASC.EXE
C:\REGLES	A set of disambiguation rules *	Create this directory, then save in it and decompress the file REGLES.EXE
any	The software	Create this directory, then save in it and decompress the file SOFT.EXE
	* These directories may be read-only and accessibles to many users

The texts to be analised may be saved in a working directory together with the file DEMO_LIC.BAT. This ".bat" file must be changed to allow the system to find the program files (palic, ambilic and make_pos).

The files to be analised must have the extension ".txt" and the analised data will have the extension ".txp"

This demo package only recognises

grammatical words (determiners, pronouns, prepositions, ...)
words starting with the following letters: "a", "b" and "c"
other words with a maximal length of 6 letters

Here you may find a sample text that fully satisfies the above constraints.

To try the package open a MS-DOS window and issue the following command

demo_lic text_file

The text file must not contain the extension like in

demo_lic prueba
