Thanks for the feedback!  Getting e-mails like this is highly motivating.  :-)

I could reproduce both bugs and fix them in my current development snapshot.
A new beta release is :(still): in preparation.  Thanks for the report and
for the helpful example programs.

This is unrelated; the warning can be safely ignored.  The bug causing the
crash must be somewhere else in your program.  Good luck with it!  ;-)
