GPC and G77_(re)

Thanks for your work!  I am thinking about including the patch into
GPC's toplev.c since it doesn't seem to interfere with other parts
of GCC, but it might be better to remain consistent with GCC-2.7.2.1
and to put the patch into the documentation.

What would you suggest?
